How OctiNote handles note content, ads, consent, and support data.

Effective date: July 10, 2026

OctiNote is designed as a local-first note app. Your note content is stored on your device by OctiNote. Octo6Lab does not operate a note-sync server for OctiNote. The iOS app can use Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, App Tracking Transparency, and Firebase Analytics for ads, consent, privacy choices, diagnostics, and minimal usage analytics. This website may use Google Analytics to understand page visits and improve the support and privacy pages.

Information handled by OctiNote

  • Note content, favorites, hidden-note state, search data, and app preferences are stored locally on your device.
  • Hidden Notes can be protected with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode through Apple LocalAuthentication. OctiNote does not receive or store your biometric data.
  • Privacy and consent choices may be stored on your device so the app can remember the option you selected.

OctiNote may show Google AdMob banner ads in the Notes tab and App Open ads at launch. Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform may process data needed for advertising, consent, diagnostics, fraud prevention, and privacy choices. Depending on region and consent state, this can include approximate location, device identifiers, product interaction, ad interaction, crash data, performance data, diagnostics, and consent records.

OctiNote requests App Tracking Transparency permission before personalized advertising signals are used. If permission is granted, the advertising identifier may be used to show more relevant ads and measure ad performance. If permission is denied, ad requests can continue without IDFA where supported.

App analytics

When Firebase Analytics is enabled in the iOS app, OctiNote records minimal usage-flow events such as screen views and feature actions. These events do not include note content, search text, note identifiers, or the actual contents of Hidden Notes. Firebase Analytics may also process app instance identifiers, approximate location, device information, product interaction, performance, and diagnostics data according to Firebase’s own terms.

Website analytics

When Google Analytics is enabled on this website, Google may process page URL, referrer, browser and device information, approximate location derived from IP address, and interaction data such as page views. This analytics data is used to understand website usage and improve public support pages. It is separate from OctiNote note content stored in the iOS app.
